As Thanksgiving was approaching we decided to try and make some pumpkin purée from our Halloween pumpkins. Stephen cut the pumpkins into large slabs and I scooped out all the insides. (The boys were not too keen on helping clean out the insides.)
Then we baked our pumpkin slices in the oven until we could poke a fork in them.
The skins then peeled right off and after a couple seconds in the blender.....WHALA!...pumpkin purée.
We then made some very yummy pumpkin bread and pumpkin cookies. It was a lot of fun and I think the boys really enjoyed our little baking project. (Eleanor was very interested as well.)
I knew there had to be an easier way of getting pumpkin puree from a pumpkin!!!
